Affordable transport, without the lump-sum price tag
Commuting to campus or a rural posting adds up fast once you count fuel, rickshaws, and van fares. The CM Punjab e-Bike Scheme was built to remove the single biggest barrier to owning a bike: the upfront cost. Instead of paying the full price at once, an approved applicant pays a modest down payment and then clears the balance in fixed monthly instalments over two to three years.
The Government of Punjab covers the loan mark-up (interest) in full and, for students, tops up part of the down payment directly. The Bank of Punjab (BOP) is the financing partner — it disburses funds to the dealer, collects instalments, and manages insurance and ownership transfer. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) runs the computerised e-balloting whenever demand exceeds the available quota, so allotment is not manual and not subject to influence.
Both electric and petrol bike options are offered side by side — an applicant chooses one, not both, at the time of registration.
Who does what

Four categories, four sets of rules
Every category shares the same interest-free structure, but eligibility, portal, and subsidy size differ. Confirm your category before you start an application.
Degree college & university students
Regular students of an HEC-recognised institution in Punjab.

- Valid learner's permit or driving licence

Female students & scooties
A dedicated quota with scooty options added in the expansion phase.

Government school teachers
Delivered through the Punjab Teachers Foundation (PTF), not the student portal.
- Serving PST / EST / Elementary / General teachers

Government employees (BPS 1–16)
A newer category for provincial staff, with salary-linked repayment.
- Open to Grade 1–16 provincial employees

Five stages, tracked like a charge cycle
Every applicant moves through the same five stages, regardless of category. Think of it as charging up to full ownership — each stage fills the bar a little further.
Register on the official portal
Create an account with your CNIC, active mobile number, and email at bikes.punjab.gov.pk (students) or ptf.punjab.gov.pk (teachers). Use a SIM registered in your own name to avoid OTP issues.
Submit documents for verification
Upload proof of enrolment or service, a learner's permit or licence, a passport-size photo, and bank details. Institutes and PITB cross-check enrolment before you're allowed to proceed.
Computerised e-balloting
Where demand exceeds the district or gender quota, PITB runs an electronic ballot. There is no manual shortlisting, so a rejected application in one round can be resubmitted in the next without penalty.
Bank of Punjab financial scrutiny
Successful applicants go through post-balloting verification by BOP, which may request a guarantor or co-borrower's CNIC before finalising the loan.
Down payment, delivery & instalments
Pay the down payment, collect the bike from an authorised dealer, and begin monthly instalments — deducted from salary for employees, paid manually to BOP for students and teachers.

Protect your CNIC — verify the domain
A growing number of look-alike sites and social media pages copy official scheme details to collect personal data or push unrelated offers. Before entering any information:
- Check the address bar reads exactly bikes.punjab.gov.pk or ptf.punjab.gov.pk — a .gov.pk domain, not .com, .pk alone, or a domain with extra words.
- The scheme never asks for payment to "confirm" your balloting result or to "speed up" processing.
- PITB and BOP will only contact you through the channel you registered — official SMS, email, or your bank branch.
